Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize the hard work and sacrifice put into the entertainment industry by DJs and congratulates TJ Harris and DJ Get Nasty for creating an event to honor the 250 DJs in the Pittsburgh area with an annual event; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Saturday, October 18, 2017, to be "DJ Appreciation Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, a disc jockey could be the main form of entertainment for your next Christmas party, holiday BBQ, Bar Mitzvah, wedding or at your favorite bar.  Disc Jockeys give up their holidays and are ready to provide the rest of the world with the sound track to all of their favorite memories; and,

 

WHEREAS, TJ Harris of Modern Era Weddings will be hosting an event to bring attention to the hard work put in by the approximately 250 active DJs in the Pittsburgh area.  Those DJs represent a large part of the entertainment and arts community in Pittsburgh; and,

 

WHEREAS, the event, scheduled for October 18, 2017, at the James Street Gastropub, will feature DJ Get Nasty, a two time award winner for Best DJ in Pittsburgh and well known for his philanthropy and his work with up and coming DJs as well as creator of the event.  The event will also feature the first ever Lifetime Achievement Award to be presented to Eric “DJ Strobe” Cohen for his 30 years of work, sacrifice and success as a DJ; and,

 

WHEREAS, the event will also feature special performances from the leading names in nightlife entertainment; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize the hard work and sacrifice put into the entertainment industry by DJs and congratulates TJ Harris and DJ Get Nasty for creating an event to honor the 250 DJs in the Pittsburgh area with an annual event; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Saturday, October 18, 2017, to be “DJ Appreciation Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
