Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby thank Our Lady of Victory Maronite Catholic Church for their allegiance to family, faith and food; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Friday, September 15 through Sunday, September 17, 2017, to be "Pittsburgh Lebanese Festival Days" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Our Lady of Victory (OLOV) Maronite Church in Scott Township celebrates Lebanese American heritage at its annual festival to be held from Friday, September 15 through Sunday, September 17, 2017; and,

 

WHEREAS, the festival showcases authentic Lebanese cuisine, history and culture for the Pittsburgh community to enjoy; and,

 

WHEREAS, it is also the largest fundraiser of the 200-family church, which conducts its services in English, Arabic and Aramaic; and,

 

WHEREAS, Lebanese singer Said Abi Akl will be performing along with the OLOV Children’s Dabké  Group who will entertain us with traditional Lebanese Folk Dances, and Dabké dancing lessons will be offered to anyone who would like to learn; and,

 

WHEREAS, music will be played throughout the festival so you can enjoy the best atmosphere while you savor mouth-watering Lebanese cuisine; and,
