Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1.                     The Mayor, Director of Public Safety, and Chief of the Bureau of Neighborhood Empowerment are authorized to execute relevant agreements with the Heinz Foundation in order to receive a grant award of fifty thousand ($50,000) dollars, for the purpose of creating a Multicultural Liaison Unit (MLU) in order to build a trustworthy and sustainable relationships between Public Safety employees (primarily law enforcement) and the immigrant and refugee communities; By actively engaging in proactive and community-driven strategies in the city. Monies from the grant agreement shall be deposited into the Grants Trust Fund account 2129400216.48311.00

 

Section 2.                     The Mayor, Director of Public Safety, and Chief of the Bureau of Neighborhood Empowerment are further authorized to enter into an Agreement, or Contract, or utilize existing Agreements or Contracts and not to exceed fifty thousand ($50,000) dollars, for the purpose of creating a Multicultural Liaison Unit (MLU) in order to build a trustworthy and sustainable relationships between Public Safety employees (primarily law enforcement) and the immigrant and refugee communities; By actively engaging in proactive and community-driven strategies in the city under the terms of the agreement between the City and the Heinz Foundation chargeable to and payable from the Grants Trust Fund account 2129400216.50000.00.
