WHEREAS, Style Week Pittsburgh N °5 (SWP) is set to kick off August 17-20 with the theme “Style Meets Innovation.” Over the 4 days, SWP will highlight a diverse group of artists and entrepreneurs doing great things in Pittsburgh; and,
WHEREAS, Style Week Pittsburgh returns for its 5th year on August 17-20 featuring four specular events beginning with opening ceremonies and designer fashion show on August 17; and,
WHEREAS, on August 18th, the Style Awards will be held to recognize the region’s most innovative businesses and talent; and,
WHEREAS, on August 19th, a Pop Up market will feature locally crafted accessories and apparel from top boutiques, designers and artisans; and,
WHEREAS, on the 20th of August, local innovators, arts enthusiasts, and tastemakers will gather for an inspiring discussion about social entrepreneurship and technology over a curated brunch; and,
WHEREAS, Style Week Pittsburgh’s signature fashion focused events will showcase and promote fashion, art, music, and entrepreneurship within an atmosphere that is inclusive, collaborative, and engaging; and,
WHEREAS, SWP has seen thousands of attendees over the past four years and is looking forward to growing those numbers in its 5th year; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare August 17-20, 2017 to be “Style Week Pittsburgh” in the City of Pittsburgh.
