Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Safety to enter into an In-Kind Sponsorship Agreement for the Richard S. Caliguiri Great Race.

WHEREAS, each September, the City presents The Richard S. Caliguiri City of Pittsburgh Great Race (“The Great Race”), an annual 10 kilometer foot race, which attracts racers from around the world; and

 

WHEREAS, Fleet Feet Sports Pittsburgh desires to provide the City with sponsorship support for The Grace Race and designated associated activities, and the parties wish to enter into an In-Kind Sponsorship Agreement for year 2017, with options for years 2018 and 2019.

 

 

Now therefore, be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1.                     The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Safety are authorized to enter into an In-Kind Sponsorship Agreement with Fleet Feet Sports Pittsburgh for The Richard S. Caliguiri Great Race and designated associated activities for one year with an option to continue as a sponsor for up to two additional years. The In-Kind Sponsorship Terms, consisting of the provision of 300 jackets for the benefit of City distribution and an option for the City to purchase discounted gift cards, will provide an annual total value of at least $30,000 to the City to support the Dollar Bank Junior Great Race and Richard S. Caliguiri City of Pittsburgh Great Race.

 

Section 2.                     The In-Kind Sponsorship Agreement may also include a Right of First Refusal for Fleet Feet Sports Pittsburgh should it wish to continue its sponsorship status for one (1) year to thereafter enter into further negotiations with the City to continue its sponsorship status in a similar capacity, subject to further negotiations by the parties and further authorization by City Council as required. All agreements must be approved by the Solicitor as to form and substance. 

 

Section 3.                     The cost to purchase discounted Fleet Feet gift cards under said agreement or agreements shall not exceed Two Thousand Seven Hundred and Twenty Seven Dollars ($2,727.00) and shall be payable from the following account.
