WHEREAS, during the month of May, Allegheny General Hospital Auxiliary and the Allegheny General Hospital-Northside Leadership Conference Partnership co-sponsor Stranger Awareness programs; and
WHEREAS, the disappearance and murder of East Allegheny resident Scott Drake was the catalyst for the Stranger Awareness program on Pittsburgh's Northside; and
WHEREAS, in its sixteenth year, students in Northside Elementary Schools (Allegheny Traditional Academy and Manchester Elementary School) will receive two days of instruction from Brashear High School and Perry High School and Pittsburgh Westinghouse 6 - 12 students focusing on the importance of Stranger Awareness on April 21 and April 28; and
WHEREAS, on Friday, May 5, 2017, the program will conclude with a performance for students by Grover's Gang, a nationally known children's band; and
WHEREAS, the following individuals and organizations have offered support and partnered with this year's Stranger Awareness event:
