Title

Resolution directing the Director of Finance to work with the Pittsburgh Public School District and Mt. Oliver Borough to develop a policy ensuring that the local and federal tax deadlines occur on the same day each year.

Body

WHEREAS, the federal tax deadline occasionally occurs on a different day than the deadline for filing the local earned income tax; and,

WHEREAS, in order to avoid confusion or late penalties for residents, the City of Pittsburgh’s tax deadline should match the federal deadline.

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1.  Directing the Director of Finance to work with the Pittsburgh Public School District and Mt. Oliver Borough to develop a policy ensuring that the local and federal tax deadlines occur on the same day each year.
