Title

Resolution providing for the designation as City Historic District the buildings known as Lemmon Row, which are located in Pittsburgh’s Central Northside neighborhood.  The proposed district contains the odd numbered addresses in the 1400 block of Buena Vista Street (23-J-134, 135, 136, 137, 138, 139, 140, 141, and 142) in the 22nd Ward, City of Pittsburgh.

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Pittsburgh has duly enacted Title 11of the Code of Ordinances, which protects and preserves Historic Structures, Districts, Sites, and Objects; and

 

WHEREAS, Todd Meyer has nominated Lemmon Row for designation as a Historic District; and

 

WHEREAS, the Historic Review Commission has held a public hearing to gather testimony from the property owners and other interested parties concerning the appropriateness of this designation; and

 

WHEREAS, the Historic Review Commission has voted to recommend that City Council DESIGNATE Lemmon Row as a Historic District; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission has held a public hearing to gather testimony from the property owners and other interested parties concerning the appropriateness of this designation; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission has voted to recommend that City Council DESIGNATE Lemmon Row as a Historic District; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh has held a public hearing to gather testimony from the public concerning the appropriateness of this designation; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh finds that the aforementioned group of buildings constitutes a Historic District that should be preserved;

 

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1.                     Pursuant to the provisions of Title 11 of the Code of Ordinances, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby designates as City Historic District the buildings known as Lemmon Row, which are located in Pittsburgh’s Central Northside neighborhood.  The proposed district contains the odd numbered addresses in the 1400 block of Buena Vista Street (23-J-134, 135, 136, 137, 138, 139, 140, 141, and 142) in the 22nd Ward, City of Pittsburgh.
