WHEREAS, established in 2005 through legislation sponsored by then-City Councilman Doug Shields and co-sponsored by then-City Councilmen Dan Deasy, Bill Peduto, and Luke Ravenstahl, the Clean Pittsburgh Commission is dedicated to the improvement of the environmental quality of life of all City residents; and
WHEREAS, the work of the Clean Pittsburgh Commission is focused on three primary areas: monitoring, awareness, and litter and illegal dumping prevention; clean-up; and enforcement; and
WHEREAS, the Clean Pittsburgh Commission currently consists of the following 2017 Members: Sarah Alessio Shea, Joe Divack, Patty Chavez, Justin Stockdale, Kyle Winkler, Julie Reiland, Myrna Newman, Melissa Rosenfeld, Erika Deyarmin-Young, Alicia Carberry, Misti McKeehen, Aftyn Giles, Miriam Parsons, and Arnette Trunzo, all of whom have demonstrated their immense commitment to public service and through their work; and
WHEREAS, through these members' ceaseless efforts dedication, the Clean Pittsburgh Commission has been able to continue to provide oversight, direction, leadership, resources, and assistance to community and neighborhood groups and individuals while serving as a liaison between these parties and relevant City departments and agencies; and
WHEREAS, since 2008, the Clean Pittsburgh Commission has held a yearly Meet n Greet Mixer to recognize and celebrate the tremendous impact of local community leaders who work tirelessly to improve their neighborhoods; and
WHEREAS, this year's Meet n Greet Mixer will be held Thursday, March 30, at 6 p.m. at Spirit in Lawrenceville, and will feature the Clean Pittsburgh Commission's debut of its new short film, Together for a Cleaner Pittsburgh, as well as bring together community members, City representatives, and other likeminded individuals, all dedicated to improving Pittsburgh; and
