Title

Resolution calling on the Department of Parks and Recreation and the Department of Public Works to identify City facilities - including, but not limited to, recreation centers and / or facilities, park shelters, and swimming pools and / or spray parks - with publicly-accessible bathroom facilities where feminine products can be made freely available to visitors, and to undertake the product procurement and equipment installation necessary for public use.

 

Body

The Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby resolves:

 

Section 1. PROCUREMENT

 

A. The Director of the Department of Parks and Recreation and the Director of the Department of Public Works shall take the appropriate steps, including product procurement, installation of dispensers and disposal receptacles, and product restocking, to make feminine products freely available in publicly-accessible bathroom facilities at locations determined to be appropriate by the Director of the Department of Parks and Recreation and the Director of the Department of Public Works.

 

Section 2. LOCATIONS

 

A. The Director of the Department of Parks and Recreation and the Director of the Department of Public Works shall identify City facilities wherein feminine products, product dispensers, and disposal receptacles will be installed.

 

B. These City facilities will include, but are not limited to:

a. Recreation centers and / or facilities.

b. Park shelters.

c. Swimming pools and / or spray parks.

 

C. The selection of locations shall be made at the discretion of the Director of the Department of Parks and Recreation and the Director of the Department of Public Works.
