WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh Firefighters Memorial Pipe Band is a non-profit organization that works to provide community services to the Greenfield neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, the mission of the band is to foster and encourage the serious study of bagpipe and drum music, to provide services to honor deceased firefighters and other deceased persons, and to represent Pittsburgh firefighters.
WHEREAS, Pittsburgh Firefighters Memorial Pipe Band desires to hold a lottery calendar, which will run for the whole year. The funds raised will help to cover the costs for their players to go to bagpipe and drum school, pay for equipment and uniforms, and also allow the organization to purchase items to be donated to the firefighter’s golf outing and hockey team.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby recognizes the Pittsburgh Firefighters Memorial Pipe Band to be a civic and/or service organization within the context of the Pennsylvania Small Games of Chance Act, as amended.
