WHEREAS, the Carrick Youth Athletic Association is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) organization; and,
Body
WHEREAS, the Carrick Youth Athletic Association maintains its principal place of business and conducts its principal activities in the City of Pittsburgh; and,
WHEREAS, the Carrick Youth Athletic Association promotes the growth of baseball and softball at all levels of competition for the Carrick community. The development of sportsmanship, teamwork, honesty, courage, respect for authority, and physical fitness; and,
WHEREAS, the Applicant desires to operate certain small games of chance and/or conduct raffles to generate funds to finance its operations and further its purposes; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby recognize the Carrick Youth Athletic Association to be a civic and/or service organization within the context of the Pennsylvania Small Games of Chance Act, as amended.
