WHEREAS, Arlinda Moriarty, who grew up in the former Garfield Heights Housing projects, is the owner and founder of Moriarty Consultants, Incorporated, which provides non-medical, in-home care services that give clients, family members and their caregivers peace of mind. It provides home care solutions as well as disability services to meet the needs of consumers, while assisting them in maintaining the utmost level of independent living and empowerment; and,
WHEREAS, Moriarty Consultants, established in 2000, has become a multi-million-dollar healthcare business that operates in 30 counties throughout Pennsylvania and in the states of Ohio, Connecticut, Georgia and Mississippi with Pennsylvania offices located in Pittsburgh, New Castle, McKeesport, Erie and Philadelphia; and,
WHEREAS, prior to starting her successful business, Arlinda was diagnosed with adult ADHD, and in spite of her challenges, she has grown her business to become one of the top home healthcare providers in Pennsylvania. The Pittsburgh Business Times has acknowledged Moriarty Consultants as one of the top minority businesses in Pittsburgh; and,
WHEREAS, Arlinda is passionate about educating individuals with disabilities and their families with information, support and resources that will help them maintain independent living in their homes in a professional, respectful and caring manner; and,
WHEREAS, Arlinda is committed to helping others. She consistently volunteers to speak to disadvantaged women about being self-sufficient and taking responsibility for their careers and personal fulfillment. She donates her time and money to provide young people with the opportunities to showcase their talents, to up lift their self-esteem and often supports business ownership by utilizing products and services of small community businesses; and,
