WHEREAS, the 7th annual Celebrate Coalitions event sponsored by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh will be held on Tuesday, January 10 from 6:00 to 8: 30 PM at James Street Speakeasy; and,
WHEREAS, the coalition awards are presented to individuals and groups who have offered commendable service to Big Brothers Big Sisters by giving of their time and talents; and,
WHEREAS, the individuals to be awarded and honored at the event are: Garret Gibson, Young Professional Outreach Board Member of the year, Jenny Sabol, BIG Recruitment Board Member of the Year, Correy Dandoy, Washington County Advisory Board Member of the Year, Amber Rooke, Youth Outcomes Advisory Board Member of the Year, and Kim Dinnin, BIG Alumni Association Board Member of the Year; and,
WHEREAS, the Community Partners to be awarded and honored this year are: Carnegie Science Center and Clint Seymour Play Ball Fund; and,
WHEREAS, through strong and enduring one-on-one relationships, the basic developmental needs of children are being met and supported and has been proven to help our youth perform better in school and avoid violence and illegal activities; and,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend and celebrate the work of Big Brothers Big Sisters and the recipients of the 2016 Coalition Awards; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, January 3, 2017 to be “BBBS Coalitions Honorees Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
