Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend and congratulate Modern Era Weddings and its staff for their commitment to less fortunate children in the region and congratulates them on their generous donations to Toys for Tots through the Dance-A-Thon; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Saturday, December 17, 2016 to be "DANCE-A-THON DAY" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, the mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute these toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community, thereby experiencing the joy of Christmas and delivering a message of hope that will assist the youngsters in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens; and,

 

WHEREAS, this year, as has been done in the past two years, Tim Harris, Mike Willis and the Modern Era Weddings staff will organize a Dance- A- Thon to raise money for the local U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Unit to purchase toys for the project; and,

 

WHEREAS, this year’s Dance-A-Thon will be held Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the Pittsburgh Marriott City Center and will open with remarks by Pittsburgh City Councilman Corey O’Connor and an appearance from Santa Claus.  There will also be a meet and greet and photo session with Mrs. Allegheny County. The Dance- A- Thon will be non-stop dancing to meet the goal of raising $10,000 in cash donations for Toys for Tots; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend and congratulate Modern Era Weddings and its staff for their commitment to less fortunate children in the region and congratulates them on their generous donations to Toys for Tots  through the Dance-A-Thon; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Saturday, December 17, 2016 to be “DANCE-A-THON DAY” in the City of Pittsburgh.
