WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh Film Office markets the Southwestern Pennsylvania region as a great location for movie, television, and commercial productions; and,
WHEREAS, since its inception in 1990, the PFO has assisted to bring more than 135 feature films and television productions to Southwestern Pennsylvania, productions that have brought in over one billion dollars to the Pittsburgh market, making a significant economic impact in our region; and,
WHEREAS, to facilitate filming in the Pittsburgh area, the PFO provides information on the region, locations, vendors, and crew; and coordinates government and business offices in support of a production; and,
WHEREAS, as a non-profit community development organization the Pittsburgh Film Office holds fundraisers and desires to supplement their efforts by from time to time conducting small games of chance; and,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize the Pittsburgh Film Office as a civic and/or service organization within the context of the Pennsylvania Small Games of Chance Act, as amended.
