Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize the value of volunteers and the extraordinary impact community service has on the fabric of a community and congratulates Nahbi Christian Ministries for honoring leaders in our community for their achievements, value and impact on children and families ; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Friday, November 4, 2016, to be "NAHBI CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES DAY" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, the mission of Nahbi Christian Ministries is to enhance impoverished communities by reducing havoc and creating healthy environments that mentor, train and develop citizens of all ages. Since 1996, Nahbi Christian Ministries has been a leader in advocating safe pathways for the healthy development of children victimized or exposed to drugs, violence and other harsh environments in Allegheny County.; and,

 

WHEREAS, volunteers who have stepped out of their familiar environments to meet needs not met otherwise through their service are a fundamental part of the community.  NCM recognizes the following people for their achievements and sacrifice:
