Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does recognize and honor Mr. Todd Siegel for his outstanding career with the City upon his retirement and wish him all the best in his future endeavors; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Wednesday, September 7th, 2016 to be "Todd Siegel Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Mr. Todd Siegel has worked within the City of Pittsburgh's Department of Personnel & Civil Service Commission since 1989, serving in many different positions within the Department including the positions of Personnel Analyst, Manager of Employment, Secretary and Chief Examiner, and Personnel Director; and,

 

WHEREAS, Mr. Siegel’s educational accomplishments include a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh in Psychology and Communications and a Master of Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh.  He also holds a Master of Public Management from Carnegie Mellon University; and,

 

WHEREAS, during Mr. Siegel’s tenure within the Department of Personnel and Civil Service Commission, he worked to successfully interpret, amend, and improve Personnel and Civil Service rules, processes, and procedures.  For example, Mr. Siegel led the effort to implement the City's online application process, oversaw civil service directives and reforms, and recently improved the City’s payroll system by overseeing the implementation of the JD Edwards HRMS migration; and,

 

WHEREAS, Mr. Siegel earned the respect of all who he worked with because of his positive attitude, tireless work ethic, and commitment to make the City of Pittsburgh a better a place; and,

 

WHEREAS, throughout his long and illustrious career, Mr. Siegel never stopped working to improve the way the Department of Personnel & Civil Service Commission functioned.  His presence will be truly missed by everyone he worked with; and,
