• Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby asks for all Pittsburghers to help raise the public awareness of autism and the many issues surrounding the disorder, and does hereby declare June 24th, 2016 to be "Dare to Dream Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, the South Pittsburgh Coalition for Peace (SPCP) is an initiative convened and funded by the Birmingham Foundation in cooperation with many community-based organizations and faith-based institutions; and,

WHEREAS, the Dare to Dream Conference is a collaboration between SPCP and the Lighthouse Cathedral; and,

WHEREAS, the event will recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of South Pittsburgh youth; and

WHEREAS, scholarships will be presented to high-school seniors entering college, including the first Sharon Daniels Scholarship award; and,

WHEREAS, South Pittsburgh youth, SPCP agencies, State Representative Jake Wheatley, Michael Smith from Destiny Ministries, and youth performers will attend and participate in the celebratory event;
