WHEREAS, Team Pittsburgh (Team Pitt) was crowned the U.S. National Champions in two age groups during the U.S. National Tournament sponsored by the U.S. Dek Hockey Federation which was held Memorial Day weekend in Leominster Massachusetts; and,
WHEREAS, Team Pitt Penguin A Warriors, coached by Wil Rennebeck and Andy Mitchell, represents ages 7-9 and defeated The Demons in this prestigious tournament with a final score of 4-2; and,
WHEREAS, Team Pitt Beaver A Knights, coached by Wil Rennebeck, Andy Mitchell and Jason Howard, represents ages 10-12 and went undefeated the entire tournament with a 4-0 final score against the Unknowns; and,
WHEREAS, Team Pitt is an organization ran by volunteers who simply enjoy the benefits that young people get from their efforts and has a reputation of producing talented players; and,
WHEREAS, their facility is located in Brighton Heights on the North Side of Pittsburgh with the Dek located at Marmaduke Park. The organization is open to children from all Pittsburgh communities; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby congratulate Team Pitt Warriors and Team Pitt Knights and the coaches and volunteers that make the league a success; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, July 12, 2016, to be “Team Pitt Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
