Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby congratulate Nathan Vislosky on his selection by the United States Olympic Committee to play in the 2016 Inline Hockey World Championships in June 2016 in Asiago, Italy and extends well wishes for a successful and winning tournament.

WHEREAS, Inline Hockey is one of the most rapidly growing sports since its inception in 1996, fielding more teams and becoming increasingly more competitive as it grows; and,

WHEREAS, North American teams have dominated the field with United States and Canada taking first and second place in each of the first three championships in the IIHF Inline Hockey World Championships; and,

WHEREAS, Nathan Vislosky, a junior at Central Catholic High School and a Gibsonia, PA resident, has been chosen by the United States Olympic Committee to play in the 2016 Inline Hockey World Championships in Italy in June 2016. Of the nine players selected, he is the only player from the northeastern United States and represent the United States on Team USA, Junior Division, competing against teams from 30 countries; and,

WHEREAS, Nathan is a letterman on the Central Catholic Varsity Ice Hockey and Inline Hockey teams, runs track and was a National Merit Scholarship Qualifier. Selected to represent Central Catholic in the PA Interscholastic Hockey League All Star Game, Nathan also played middle school inline hockey and played for the Butler Cobras AAA Program; and,

WHEREAS, outside of sports, Nathan was the founding member of the Central Catholic Future Business Leaders of America business leadership program, was a part of the Westinghouse Science Honors Institute, selected to be part of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine Scholars Academy and was a scholarship recipient to the PA Free Enterprise Program. He works as a Lifeguard at the YMCA and volunteers for Toys 4 Tots, Pittsburgh Penguins Sled Hockey, World Vision, Presents for Patients and at St. Richards Church; and,
