• Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh celebrates the accomplishments of this year's LP class and all past LP classes, and does hereby declare Tuesday, June 14th 2016 to be "Leadership Pittsburgh Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Leadership Pittsburgh Inc. is an independent nonprofit organization engaged in developing a diverse group of leaders to serve southwestern Pennsylvania; and,

WHEREAS, among other community initiatives Leadership Pittsburgh Inc. organizes the annual flagship program, Leadership Pittsburgh, which is a 10-month highly-selective program, geared towards established leaders, that provides opportunities for these established leaders to examine critical community issues, enhance civic-engagement, develop executive-level networks and empower these senior managers to impact their business and the regional agenda at a leadership level; and,

WHEREAS, this year’s LP class is the 32^nd annual cohort to graduate from the program and includes 61 significant leaders who will go on to make Pittsburgh an even more dynamic city than it is today; and,

WHEREAS, a new class of senior leaders is selected every year based on a competitive process that begins with the submission of applications on the first Friday of May;
