Title

Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of Parks and Recreation to execute relevant agreements to receive grant funding to support the Park Ranger Grant from the Richard King Mellon Foundation to provide a two-year support of a collaborative effort with Student Conservation Association to add a seasonal park ranger team and further providing for an agreements and expenditures not to exceed seven hundred thousand ($700,000) dollars over a two-year period for this stated purpose.

 

Body

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1.                     The Mayor and the Director of Parks and Recreation of the City of Pittsburgh are authorized to execute relevant agreements and contracts over a two-year period to receive a grant award of seven hundred thousand ($700,000) dollars of a collaborative effort with Student Conservation Association to add a seasonal park ranger team and further providing for an agreements, contracts and expenditures for said purposes.   Monies from the grant agreement shall be deposited into the Grants Trust Fund Account 5029400183.48311.00.

 

Section 2.                     The Mayor and the Director of Parks and Recreation of the City of Pittsburgh are further authorized to enter into an Agreement, or Contract, or utilize existing Agreements or Contracts and not to exceed seven hundred thousand ($700,000) dollars, for the outcomes outlined in the proposal presented to the Richard King Mellon Foundation in which the City of Pittsburgh expects to hire at least 16 Student Conservation Association rangers each year to serve in at least ten city parks, providing support to visitors and residents using the parks.  Said agreement or agreements, contract or contracts, or expenditures shall not exceed seven hundred thousand ($700,000) dollars chargeable to and payable from the Grants Trust Fund Account 5029400183.500000.00.
