Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does commend and congratulate Comcast on its 15th Comcast Cares Day, and commends Comcast for its concentrated efforts to help with the improvement of our communities; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Saturday, April 30, 2016, to be "Comcast Cares Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Comcast is celebrating its 15th annual Comcast Cares Day to be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016; and,

 

WHEREAS, Comcast Cares Day is a celebration of service, and has grown to be the largest single-day corporate volunteer event in the nation, bringing employees, families, friends, and community partners together for a common purpose; and,

 

WHEREAS, Comcast Cares Day promotes a spirit of corporate responsibility thanks to the hard work, dedication and service of almost 2,000 Comcast volunteers throughout Allegheny County, many of them in the City of Pittsburgh; and,

 

WHEREAS, Comcast remains an active, committed and engaged member of the City of Pittsburgh as demonstrated by years of Comcast Cares Day service in neighborhoods throughout the city; and,

 

WHEREAS , this year, Comcast volunteers will partner with the Homewood YWCA and YMCA, the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh, Northview Heights Family Support Center,  the Education Partnership, the Sarah Heinz House Association and the Veterans Place, and Comcast will also conduct a blood drive at Comcast’s Corliss facility in the West End; and,

 

WHEREAS, this past year, Comcast  has reached important milestones, including  more than four million service hours and over $18 million in grants to organizations nationwide; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does commend and congratulate Comcast on its 15th Comcast Cares Day, and commends Comcast for its concentrated efforts to help with the improvement of our communities; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Saturday, April 30, 2016, to be “Comcast Cares Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
