Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Scott Albert for the work he does with connecting Pittsburghers to the current job market; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Thursday, March 17, 2016, to be "Scott Albert Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, in 2005, Mr. Scott Albert founded The Albert Institute, LLC and has been in the business of developing the workforce for over ten years by helping businesses and job seekers connect ; and,

WHEREAS, The Albert Institute, LLC began as a training and consulting service to help develop the labor pool and adult education industries, and has grown into an extensive workforce development operation utilizing a variety of technology and creative networking strategies to better connect jobseekers with potential employers; and,

WHEREAS, some of their projects include, but not are not limited to, PA WIN affiliated training in partnership with The Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council, career-related re-entry services to participants of U.S. Probation & Pretrial Services of Western PA, and services to Federal Bureau of Prisons staff; and,

WHEREAS, Mr. Albert, who partnered with KDKA-TV, created and manages "Career Talk" and its Employee Referral Network, a unique website which uses a variety of media to promote vacant positions, feature unique businesses and provide job resources to the Pittsburgh community; and,

WHEREAS, Scott gives back to the community by volunteering not only his workforce expertise, but also uses his musical talent by performing numerous benefit concerts with his band The Scott Albert Project; and,

WHEREAS, Scott, who grew up in Sheraden, received a B.S. in English/Secondary Education from Duquesne University and has been an adjunct instructor at Everest Institute for over 10 years. In addition, Mr. Albert has been certified by the National Institute of Correction as an Offender Workforce Development Specialist & Offender Employment Specialist and is certified as an instructor in both areas; and,
