Title

Resolution directing the Mayor, Director of Finance, Director of PLI, or their designee to implement an online application process, and acceptance of credit cards as a form of payment for the issuance of alarm permits.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Pittsburgh requires all owners of operational burglar alarm systems, fire alarm systems and multi-purpose systems to obtain a permit from the City of Pittsburgh; and,

 

WHEREAS, currently, the owner of an alarm system seeking a permit must fill out a paper application and pay the permit fee with a check or money order, in person or by mail; and,

 

WHEREAS, the City of Pittsburgh seeks to identify opportunities to improve overall efficiency in government services in order to better serve our residents and those doing business in the city.

 

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1. The Council of the City of Pittsburgh directs the Mayor, Director of Finance, Director of PLI, or their designee, by October 31, 2016, to implement an online application process, and acceptance of credit cards as a form of payment for the issuance of alarm permits.
