Title: Resolution authorizing the Mayor and/or the Director of the Department of Public Works, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh (CITY), to enter into a Declaration of Gift Three Rivers Heritage Trail Stewardship Fund Agreement with the Pittsburgh Foundation and Friends of the Riverfront to establish and manage a stewardship fund for the maintenance and upkeep of the Three Rivers Heritage. Title

Body
WHEREAS, the City of Pittsburgh (CITY) is the owner and/or responsible for the maintenance, upkeep and expansion of 24 miles of riverfront trails constituting the Three Rivers Heritage Trail System and;

WHEREAS, the Friends of the Riverfront (FOR), (founded in 1991 works to reclaim and restore the Pittsburgh region's riverfronts for public use through collaboration with community partners, government officials, and a diverse volunteer base, and have transformed our rivers and riverfronts from industrial wastelands to internationally recognized examples of environmental renewal) through a License agreement with the CITY making FOR eligible to conduct maintenance and improvement activities on the Three Rivers Heritage Trail System (TRHTS); and

WHEREAS, the City of Pittsburgh, the Friends of the Riverfront desire and The Pittsburgh Foundation (TPF), (one of the oldest community foundations established in 1945 and the 13th largest foundation across the United States with more than 2,000 individual donors and assets more than $1.14 billion) is willing to enter into a Declaration of Gift Three Rivers Heritage Trail Stewardship Fund Agreement with the Pittsburgh Foundation and Friends of the Riverfront to establish and manage a stewardship fund for the maintenance and upkeep of the (TRHTS).
