Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize Ms. Judith DeVito and Ms. Florence DeGregorio for their outstanding, longtime commitment to serving the people of Pittsburgh; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare January 20, 2016 to be "Ms. Florence DeGregorio Day" in the City of Pittsburgh; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare January 21, 2016 to be "Ms. Judith DeVito Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, the City Council appreciates the vital services the Pittsburgh Parking Authority provides to the people of Pittsburgh, and the staff who work to facilitate these services; and,

WHEREAS, Parking Enforcement Director Ms. Judith "Judi" DeVito was born and raised in Pittsburgh's East End, graduated from Sacred Heart High School, and has resided in Morningside for the past 25 years; and,

WHEREAS, for 31 years Ms. DeVito personified the values found in serving the City. Her service started when she became a "School Crossing Guard" for Pittsburgh's Public Safety Department in 1985. She then served as a Parking Enforcement Officer when transferred to the Pittsburgh Parking Authority. With the Parking Authority, she quickly advanced through the department, becoming Supervisor of Meter Enforcement in 1995, and then the Director of Meter Enforcement in 2000. Her successful management within the Parking Authority led her to eventually become the Director of Parking Enforcement and Residential Permit Parking, a position she currently holds; and

WHEREAS, Ms. DeVito is the proud mother of her son Chris and his wife Jamie, and grandmother to Ashley and Kristi; and,

WHEREAS, Parking Enforcement Supervisor Ms. Florence "Flo" DeGregorio was born and raised in Pittsburgh's South Side, graduated from South Side High School, formerly served as an Allegheny County Constable and has resided in Bon Air for the past 16 years; and,

WHEREAS, Ms. DeGregorio embodies what it means to truly serve the people of Pittsburgh. She has served the City for 25 years, and began working with the Pittsburgh Parking Authority in 1995 starting as a Part-Time Parking Enforcement Officer. She was then promoted to Full-Time Parking Enforcement Officer in 1997, and then to Supervisor of Parking Enforcement in 2012; and,

WHEREAS, Ms. DeGregorio is the proud mother of daughter Amy and her husband Liam; and son Mario and his wife Katie; and,
