Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby proclaim Tuesday, December 8, 2015 as "Ilyssa Manspeizer Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

Body

Whereas, in December of 2006, Ilyssa Manspeizer joined the Mount Washington Community Development Corporation to lead the Emerald View Park initiative, and stepped into the Executive Director position in May 2014; and

 

Whereas, in addition to successfully developing the Emerald Trail Corps, Ilyssa oversaw the transition of Emerald View Park from its original steep hillside, to a sought out destination and Pittsburgh’s newest Regional Park; and,

 

Whereas, Ilyssa used her exceptional listening skills to foster relationships and to build trust, she worked to more fully engage community stakeholders; and,

 

Whereas, as Executive Director, Ilyssa pushed to engage and empower the Mount Washington and Duquesne Heights residents while strengthening core programs within the MWCDC.

 

Whereas, along with striving for success in her career, Ilyssa has raised four beautiful children, Jacob, Tal, Gili and Ori, and continues to be a loving wife to her husband, Brian.

 

Whereas, on December 14, 2015, the MWCDC will sadly bid farewell to Ilyssa Manspeizer as she moves on to continue building key partnerships and bring invaluable resources to communities all over the Pittsburgh area; and,

Whereas, we thank Ilyssa for her tireless efforts in the Mount Washington and Duquesne Heights neighborhoods and wish her well in her newest endeavor; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby proclaim Tuesday, December 8, 2015 as “Ilyssa Manspeizer Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
