WHEREAS, to earn the rank of Eagle Scout, a Boy Scout must progress through the ranks of Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, and Life, all while earning 21 merit badges, including badges in the following fields: first aid; communications; personal management; camping; environmental science; family life; and citizenship in the community, nation, and in the word; and
WHEREAS, a Boy Scout must also: serve at least six months in a leadership position within his troop; participate in a Scoutmaster conference; plan, develop, and execute a service project in support of a religious organization, school, or community; and, finally, successfully complete an Eagle Scout Board of Review; and
WHEREAS, Christopher Kraemer, who became a Boy Scout on September 20, 2009 after being a Cub Scout in Pack 109 and receiving the Arrow of Light recognition, previously served the Boy Scouts of American Troop 109 as Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader, and now serves as Junior Assistant Scoutmaster; and
WHEREAS, through his service and leadership, Christopher led an Eagle Project that cleared an area of detritus at the Carrie Furnace in Rankin, Pennsylvania that is now used in tours and lectures; and
WHEREAS, Christopher has not only met, but surpassed the requirements of an Eagle Scout, and will be honored by the Boy Scouts of America Troop 109 on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 for his achievement of the Eagle Scout Rank Award.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Christopher for his leadership, character, and dedication to his Troop and to his community; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Wednesday, December 2, 2015 to be “Christopher Kraemer Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
