Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and congratulate the members of HarmonEyes for their extraordinary commitment to their music and for providing pure entertainment to senior centers , nursing homes and the community; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, November 17, 2015, to be " HARMONEYES DAY " in the City of Pittsburgh.

Body

WHEREAS, HarmonEyes is a choral group comprised of legally blind professional and non-professional singers and musicians; and,

 

WHEREAS, formed in 2014 , the group has practiced at and called home the Greenfield Healthy Active Living Center in the Greenfield section of Pittsburgh and has shared its love of music though volunteer performances at City of Pittsburgh Senior Centers, nursing homes and a Veteran’s nursing facility; and,   

 

WHEREAS, the HarmonEyes Music Director is Keith Stebler who is a professional keyboard player who has been preforming professionally since 1969. Louis Schreiber is a professional wood wind musician who has been performing since 1967. Both men who accompany HarmonEyes were inducted into the Pittsburgh Jazz Hall of Fame in 2014; and,

 

WHEREAS, Members of HarmonEyes include Angelina Casciato, Karen Good, Keith STebler, Louis Schreiber, Korene Kegg, Kristine STebler, Dave Popleo, Cindy Perseo, Judy Kelly, Mike McCafferty and Peggy Walsh. Jacqueline Stebler is the group’s Volunteer Coordinator.
