Title: NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, thanks Mr. Carmack for his continued dedication to keeping Cape May Avenue a clean and friendly place to live; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare October 20, 2015 to be "Raymond 'Cape May Ray' Carmack Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Raymond Carmack has been a resident of Cape May Avenue in Beechview for 59 years with his wife Jean, and;

 

WHEREAS,  The Carmacks and their children Cathy and Raymond have always been very active in the community and St. Catherine of Siena Church in Beechview, and;

 

WHEREAS, Mr. Carmack continues to support his family, friends, neighbors and relatives as a model citizen, constantly striving to give back to the community, and;

 

WHEREAS, Mr. Carmack is responsible for helping to keep Cape May Ave in Beechview trash free, clean, beautiful and looking like the true reflection of The City of Pittsburgh community, and a great place to live and;

 

WHEREAS, every single day, Mr. Carmack walks Cape May Ave from West Liberty Ave to Hampshire Ave and collects trash and shares daily greetings with his neighbors of 59 years, and

 

WHEREAS, Mr. Carmack is so consistent in his contribution to his street that his neighbor’s refer to him with love and appreciation as “Cape May Ray”, the Steward of Cape May Avenue.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare October 20, 2015 to be “Raymond ‘Cape May Ray’ Carmack Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
