Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby congratulate Eyetique for their continued success; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Wednesday, October 14, 2015, to be "Eyetique Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Eyetique was founded by Norman Childs in 1979 with a mission to provide customers with an unparalleled experience creating relationships with customers while providing eyewear usually found only in New York City, Chicago or San Francisco; and,

 

WHEREAS, Mr. Childs opened his first store at 2242 Murray Avenue, with himself as the only employee and, even after quadrupling in size,  the store was not large enough to accommodate its customers, and the company has since grown to more than 100 employees at 21 locations in Pennsylvania and Ohio including the original Squirrel Hill location; and,

 

WHEREAS, most recently, Eyetique purchased and renovated the former Constructors Association of Western Pennsylvania building located at 1201 Banksville Road in the Banksville/Beechview area, to be used to house its corporate offices, employee training center, laboratory and distribution facilities; and,

 

WHEREAS, currently more than 20 employees work at the new location enabling Eyetique to bring all aspects of the business under one roof, thereby improving operational efficiencies and customer service, of which they are most proud; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,  that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby congratulate Eyetique for their continued success; and,
