Resolution authorizing the Mayor and Director of the Department of Public Works to enter into an Acceptance of Donation and License and Maintenance Agreement with Linda Wallen and the Community Alliance of Spring Garden - East Deutschtown (CASGED), regarding the donation, installation, and maintenance of a mosaic mural neighborhood sign where Chestnut, Itin, and Concord Streets intersect and where a set of City steps lead down Spring Hill Garden.

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1.
WHEREAS, Linda Wallen (the “Artist”) has offered to create and donate a mosaic mural neighborhood sign (the “Mural”) to the City; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works (DPW) recommends acceptance of the Mural; and
WHEREAS, the City’s Art Commission has also provided its approval for the Mural at the site; and
WHEREAS, CASGED has offered to assist Artist with future maintenance efforts and funding for the Mural at the site; and
WHEREAS, the City would now like to accept this donation and intends to permit its installation on City property where Chestnut, Itin, and Concord Streets intersect and where a set of City steps lead down Spring Hill Garden.
On behalf of the City, the Mayor is authorized to accept the donation of the Mural from Artist.
Section 2. The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works are hereby authorized to enter into an Acceptance of Donation and License and Maintenance Agreement or Agreements with Linda Wallen and CASGED regarding the donation, installation, and maintenance of the mural. Linda Wallen will create and design the Mural. CASGED will assist Linda Wallen with maintenance and funding efforts for the Mural. All agreements will be approved by the City Solicitor as to form and substance.
