WHEREAS, Peter and Teresa Habib celebrated 50 years of marriage on June 25; and,
WHEREAS, Peter and Teresa met while Peter attended Point Park College and Teresa attended Mercy Nursing School and they were married on June 25, 1965 and moved to Upper St. Clair where they have raised 8 children together; and,
WHEREAS, Peter and Teresa's love of family is evident with 36 family members including 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; and,
WHEREAS, they are dedicated to their Maronite Catholic faith and are active members of Our Lady of Victory Maronite Catholic Church in Carnegie; and,
WHEREAS, Peter has established a successful CPA firm in Pittsburgh and their children have all become very accomplished in their respective fields as doctors, CPAs, business owners and news anchors; and,
WHEREAS, Peter and Teresa are very dedicated to their family and enjoy traveling together to visit their children thus creating a strong bond of love between them; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby congratulate Peter and Teresa Habib for their 50th Wedding Anniversary; a milestone almost unheard of in this day and age and a testament to their long lasting love and devotion; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Thursday, June 25th, 2015, to be "Peter and Teresa Habib Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
