Title: NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh thanks Toastmasters Carrick PA for providing this program for area youth. And we recognize the hard work of those youth in completing the program and; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare June 16, 2015 to be Toastmasters Carrick PA, Youth Leadership Day in the City of Pittsburgh.

Whereas, Toastmasters Carrick PA was chartered on February 1, 2015 as a community club located in the Carrick area of the city of Pittsburgh. The decision to start a club was made in March of 2014 by Carolyn Krachkowski, who along with Zenia Ayrton, worked as Club Sponsors spreading the word about this new resource in the community which provides a supportive and fun environment in which adults can develop and practice their communication and leadership skills, and;

Whereas, Toastmasters Carrick PA meets every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh - Carrick Branch. Currently the club's 25 members represent the communities of Carrick, Overbrook, South Park, Bethel Park, Seven Fields, North Hills, Brentwood and Whitehall, and;
Whereas, Toastmasters Carrick PA is one of 14,500 clubs representing 313,000 members in 126 countries around the world, allowing members and youth an opportunity to have their learning and development experience continued regardless of where their future leads them, and;

Whereas, as part of the club's efforts to provide a resource to those wishing to enhance their skills, the club decided to include the youth in the area with the first Youth Leadership Program was conducted in the spring of 2015. Seven participants from Grades 5 to 12 attended eight sessions in which they learned and practiced skills in leadership and parliamentary procedure, as well as prepared and impromptu speaking, and;

Whereas, under the leadership of club sponsors Carolyn Krachkowski and Zenia Ayrton, with program assistance from Ray Lipowcan, Mike Krachkowski, and Liz Spano, Toastmasters Carrick PA was joined by youth participants Luke Lipowcan, Matt Mars, Zachary Mars, Jordan Masek, Logan Masek, Delany McCarthy-Plut, and Sarah Warywoda, who showed exceptional leadership and growth throughout their eight sessions in the program, and;
