WHEREAS, in 2012, the Northside Leadership Conference organized the first-ever Northside Sandwich Week to showcase some of the tastiest and most creative sandwiches that the Northside had to offer, and to encourage people to support local businesses; and,
WHEREAS, following the successes in years past, Northside Sandwich Week is back, and starting on June 18, 2015, participating restaurants will compete for the title of “Northside Sandwich King”; and,
WHEREAS, all of the sandwiches will be available at the Sandwich Sampler, which will be held at the Priory Grand Hall on June 18, 2015, from 6:00-9:00PM; and,
WHEREAS, the restaurants and sandwiches to be featured in the 2015 Northside Sandwich Week are:
Modern Café - Greek Cheesesteak
Penn Brewery - Reubenesque
Chateau Café & Cakery - The Oddjob
Peppi’s - The Great Garbanzo
James Street Gastropub - The Deutschtown Italian
Max’s Allegheny Tavern - Potato Pancake Reuben
Atria’s PNC Park - Signature Pork Belly Sliders
Scratch Food & Beverage - Scratch Reuben
Nana’s New York Hot Dog Shop - The Northside Chili Dog, AKA “Everything Dog”
Legends of the North Shore - Deutschtown Double Down
North Shore Café - Grilled Chicken Pesto Panini
Brighton Café - Chicken Sandwich
WHEREAS, the 2015 Northside Sandwich Week will feature the following celebrity judges:
Chef Kevin Watson - Executive Chef at Savoy Restaurant in the Strip District
Randy Gilson - artist behind Randyland on Arch Street on Pittsburgh’s Northside
Hal B. Klein - Pittsburgh’s Magazine’s restaurant critic and food columnist

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize the Northside Leadership Conference, and all of the participants in the 2015 Northside Sandwich Week for making such a unique and enjoyable event possible; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare June 18 to June 24, 2015, to be “Northside Sandwich Week” in the City of Pittsburgh.
