WHEREAS, Altar of God Ministry, located at 2966 Chartiers Avenue, was founded on May 18, 2014, by Reverend James E. Lewis and First Lady Wanda Lewis; and,
WHEREAS, Altar of God Ministry is celebrating its one-year anniversary with members and the community on May 24, 2015, at 4:00 PM; and,
WHEREAS, Reverend Lewis has a heart for people and creates an atmosphere of hope, healing and empowerment for the community and speaks the Truth in a loving and passionate way; and,
WHEREAS, Altar of God Ministry engages in community outreach and has a "mime team" who performs during special holidays, events and adds visuals to many sermons; and,
WHEREAS, Reverend Lewis has a heart for the youth and welcomes the opportunity to speak to our youth, such as he did at a recent speaking engagement for a Youth Revival at Mt. Olive Baptist Church; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby congratulate Altar of God Ministry on their one-year anniversary and commends them for their commitment to the spiritual needs of the residents of the City of Pittsburgh; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Sunday, May 24, 2015, to be "Altar of God Ministry Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
