Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby honor Pastor Glaze for 25 years of service to Bethany Baptist Church, the community of Homewood and the City of Pittsburgh; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Saturday, June 26, 2015, to be "Reverend Dr. William R. Glaze Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Reverend Dr. William R. Glaze, Pastor of Bethany Baptist Church in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, since July 1990, completed his undergraduate studies at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, in 1978. Pastor Glaze completed his graduate studies at Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, Virginia, where he was the recipient of the B.R. Lakin Award for Persuasive Preaching. In 1987, he earned a Doctor of Sacred Theology Degree from Bethany Theological Seminary in Dothan, Alabama; and,
 
WHEREAS, Pastor Glaze has served in a number of capacities, which include Chaplain for the New York Mets and Boston Red Sox Minor League teams in 1984-1985. He also has been chaplain for our very own Pittsburgh Steelers in 2012; and,
 
WHEREAS, Pastor Glaze is also very active in a host of organizations. He is President of Homewood Brushton Community Ministries, Board member for the Homewood Children's Village and Adjunct Professor at the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh, just to name a few; and,
 
WHEREAS, in 2010, Pastor Glaze was recognized by the Center for Urban Biblical Ministry as an Urban Hero for his work in the inner city of Pittsburgh and in 2012 he was the recipient of the Circle of Courage Award in Religion; and,    
 
WHEREAS, on Friday, June 26, 2015, Pastor Glaze will be celebrating his 25th Pastoral Anniversary at the Doubletree Hotel and Convention Center in Monroeville, Pennsylvania; and,
