Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend the Jewish Family and Children's Service of Pittsburgh on its impact and imprint in the Pittsburgh region and congratulates Paul Dubner for receiving the Mermelstein Award for his leadership and dedication at the agency's Annual Meeting; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Thursday, May 21, 2015, to be "JEWISH FAMILY AND CHILDREN'S SERVICES DAY" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Jewish Family and Children's Service of Pittsburgh is an independent, nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life of children, families, and adults of all ages throughout the Greater Pittsburgh area by providing psychological, employment, and social services; and,
 
WHEREAS, for over 77 years, JF&CS has continuously adapted their programs and services to meet the changing needs of their dynamic population, delivering essential psychological, employment, and social services to alleviate hardship and support people in times of need and who are undergoing lifecycle transitions and crises; and,
 
WHEREAS, JF&CS will hold its Annual Meeting on Thursday, May 21st, 2015, with the theme focusing on the resiliency of their clients, funders, and community partners who, when faced with overwhelming challenges, find strength and support in the vast array of JF&CS services and programs; and,
 
WHEREAS, this year, JF&CS will award the 2015 Dr. Howard A. Mermelstein Leadership Award to Board Treasurer Paul Dubner for his strong leadership, commitment to the community, and dedication to the mission of JF&CS.
