WHEREAS, Carol "Dearheart" Pascuzzi, arguably one of Pittsburgh's most famous, has been welcoming any and all patrons of the Pennsylvania Macaroni Company in the historic Strip District for over thirty years with warmth, sincerity, and a friendly smile; and,
WHEREAS, Carol has been affectionately addressing Pittsburghers as "dearheart" from behind the glass cheese counter as she lovingly assists customers make selections with an unparalleled amount of knowledge and cheer; and,
WHEREAS, Carol has been described as a star at the Pennsylvania Macaroni Company by its president, who considers himself lucky and privileged to have her not only as an employee, but also as part of the Sunseri family; and,
WHEREAS, Carol is painted lovingly by her husband, Nick, as being open to all people, out-going, and possessing the unique ability to remain undeterred and focused under any circumstance; and,
WHEREAS, Carol has been described by the local business community and those who work with her as possessing unmatched enthusiasm, always being in a good mood, and being completely full of heart and soul; and,
WHEREAS, Carol's kindness can only be matched by her spirit of hard work, dedication to learning, and unwavering patience; and,
WHEREAS, Carol's modesty, humility, and unassuming nature have given her the ability to undoubtedly win over the hearts of anyone who has had the pleasure of her acquaintance; and,
WHEREAS, after a long, illustrious career, Carol and her husband, Nick, will be retiring to be closer to their family, having left a positive impact on the Strip District and the City of Pittsburgh; and,

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize Carol "Dearheart" Pascuzzi for her depth of spirit, dedication to hard work, and continued and everlasting commitment to food, family, and community; and,
