Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby convey our most sincere sympathies to Thomas F. Lamb's wife, Barbara, and his children, Thomas, James, Michael, and Barbara. On behalf of the People of Pittsburgh, we honor his memory, we are thankful for his public service, and we look to him as an example of a life well lived. We pray for Thomas' eternal soul and that his family receives God's grace and comfort during this time of loss; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, to honor the memory of Thomas F. Lamb, will, at their legislative meeting on May 12th, 2015, pause for a moment of silence and reflect upon and honor his many contributions to the public good.

WHEREAS, on May 7th, 2015, at ninety-two years of age, Thomas F. Lamb, a loving husband, father, and faithful public servant, did depart this world and has gone to his everlasting reward in heaven; and,
 
WHEREAS, Thomas F. Lamb served the People of Pittsburgh with honor and distinction in the Pennsylvania Assembly as a Representative (1959-1966), a Senator (1969-1974), and as Governor Casey's Secretary of Legislative Affairs (1987-1991). While in these positions of power, Thomas did not seek power for himself. He worked to empower all Pennsylvanians by promoting a just society, the lessening of environmental harms, and securing the well-being of those he served. Among his many accomplishments he helped to create the Allegheny County Port Authority Transit system, and brought a financially troubled University of Pittsburgh into the state university system; and,
 
WHEREAS, Thomas F. Lamb's political allies and adversaries alike respected his honesty, his knowledge of the law, and his reputation as a fair and honest broker. His family and friends knew him to be a wise, humble and faithful friend; and,
