WHEREAS, since 2005, 5801 Video Lounge and Café has been a fixture of the business district on Ellsworth Avenue in Shadyside; and,
WHEREAS, 5801 has been a strong advocate and supporter of the LGBTQ community, and has been voted Best LGBTQ Establishment annually for the last 10 years; and,
WHEREAS, 5801 draws patrons into the City of Pittsburgh from all over the region, and provides unparalleled hospitality to out-of-town visitors; and,
WHEREAS, 5801 participates in significant capital investment, which continues to help drive the positive business outlook for the area; and,
WHEREAS, 5801 consistently gives back to the community through organizations such as the Delta Foundation, Pittsburgh LGBT Sporting Leagues, Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force, Persad Center, Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, Equality Pennsylvania, Dreams of Hope, and Shepard Wellness; and,
WHEREAS, this year 5801 is proud to celebrate ten years as a Shadyside neighbor, community advocate, and local philanthropist.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize 5801 Video Lounge and Café for providing excellent service to its customers and its resolute foundation within the community.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare May 12th, 2015, to be "5801 Video Lounge and Café Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
