WHEREAS, the Society for Contemporary Craft ("Contemporary Craft") is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, founded in 1971; and,
WHEREAS, Contemporary Craft works to engage the public in creative experiences through contemporary craft by holding classes, exhibitions, and by selling local and regional artists' works; and,
WHEREAS, Contemporary Craft will be hosting the Association of American Woodworks annual conference, a part of which is raffling off two pieces of woodworking equipment; and,
WHEREAS, Contemporary Craft desires to operate certain small games of chance and/or conduct raffles to generate funds to finance its operations and further its purposes.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby recognize Contemporary Craft to be a civic and/or service organization within the context of the Pennsylvania Small Games of Chance Act, as amended.
