Title
Resolution amending Resolution 505 of 2013, effective August 5, 2013, to authorize the Mayor and the Director of the Department of City Planning to amend the City's existing Cooperation Agreement for Program Administration Assistance with the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership for The Market Square Public Art Program by adding City funding to cover certain expenses and to extend the term of the Cooperation Agreement for an additional term of up to three years.

Body
WHEREAS, in 2013, the City established the Market Square Public Art Program (the "Program") in which qualified artists have been and will continue to be selected to loan artwork to the City for temporary placement in Market Square; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 505 of 2013, effective August 5, 2013, the City entered into a Cooperation Agreement for Program Administration Assistance with Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership ("PDP"), which offered to assist the City with the Program by administering certain Program components, including fundraising for the proposed art installations and payment to Artists at no cost to the City; and

WHEREAS, with the PDP's assistance, the City has successfully engaged two artists to loan artwork to the City for the Program over the past two years and is now working with the PDP to engage the artist selected for Year 3 of the Program, which work is to be presented in Spring of 2016; and

WHEREAS, although the original Cooperation Agreement contemplated no City funding for the Program, the City now wishes to amend the Cooperation Agreement to contribute funding for the Program in order to assist the PDP with necessary costs; and

WHEREAS, due to the success of the Program, the parties also wish to amend the Cooperation Agreement for an additional term of up to three (3) years.
