Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend and celebrate the work and accomplishments of Mary Sue Ramsden, and thanks her for the commitment to service and the people of Pittsburgh; and, NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, April 28th, 2015, to be "Mary Sue Ramsden Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, on Tuesday, April 28th, 2015, the Amen Corner will be hosting their 55th Annual Judicial Reception at the Carlton Restaurant in downtown Pittsburgh; and,

WHEREAS, during this year's event, the Amen Corner will be celebrating Mary Sue Ramsden, Esq., of the family law firm Raphael, Ramsden & Behers by honoring her with the Judge James R. McGregor Award; and,

WHEREAS, Attorney Ramsden is a zealous client advocate who has consistently been rated at the top of the legal profession by her peers, selected for inclusion as a "Pennsylvania Super Lawyer" in every edition of the award for more than a decade, also receiving the highest possible peer AV rating for legal ability and ethical standards; and,

WHEREAS, Miss Ramsden is an accomplished community leader, who gives generously of her own time, having served two terms as President of Amen Corner, two years as Co-President of the Women's Bar Association of Western PA, time as Chair of the Family Law Section of the Allegheny County Bar Association, as well as dedicating three years of service to the ACBA Family Law Council and a decade on the executive board; additionally, Miss Ramsden has served on the ACBA Judiciary Committee, the ACBA Board of Governors, the PBA House of Delegates, and on the executive committee of the PBA Commission on Women; and,

WHEREAS, committed to community and pro bono service, Miss Ramsden represents victims of domestic violence in Protection From Abuse proceedings, provides legal advice to pro se litigants through the court Pro Bono Project, participates in the ACBA "KDKA You and the Law Day," acts as a judge at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law Moot Court, serves on the Military and Veterans Affairs committee, participates in the Attorneys Against Hunger Project as well as the Legal Services pro bono Family Law Legal Clinic, among many other legal and community service activities; and,
