Title: BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Saturday, April 25, 2015 to be "Comcast Cares Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Comcast has been an active, committed, and engaged member of the City of Pittsburgh as demonstrated by years of Comcast Cares Day service in neighborhoods throughout the city; and,

WHEREAS, Comcast supports the core American value of volunteerism through partnerships, grants, and volunteer activities that empower individuals and communities; and,

WHEREAS, Comcast Cares Day is a celebration of service, and has grown to be the largest single-day corporate volunteer event in the nation, bringing employees, families, friends, and community partners together for a common purpose; and,

WHEREAS, Comcast is celebrating its 14th Comcast Cares Day, and has reached several important milestones, including 3.7 million hours of service and over $16 million in grants to organizations nationwide; and,

WHEREAS, on Saturday, April 25, 2015, Comcast will clean and paint the Northview Heights Family Support Center on Hazlett Street in partnership with the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh; perform inventory work at the Storehouse for Teachers on Corliss Street in partnership with the Education Partnership; work with the Sarah Heinz House Association to clean up the Sarah Heinz House Boys and Girls Club on the North Side; work on a spring cleanup with Small Seeds Development, Inc. in East Liberty; and conduct a blood drive at Comcast's Corliss facility in the West End, among other projects; and,

WHEREAS, Comcast Cares Day promotes a spirit of corporate responsibility thanks to the hard work, dedication and service of almost 2,000 Comcast volunteers throughout the Pittsburgh region, many of them in the City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does commend and congratulate Comcast on its 14th Comcast Cares Day, and commends Comcast for its concentrated efforts to help with the improvement of our Communities; and,
