Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and commend Mr. Key for his commitment to rebuilding urban neighborhoods and his philanthropic approach in helping minorities obtain gainful employment; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, April 14, 2015, to be "Keith B. Key Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Keith B. Key, a Pittsburgh native and The Ohio State University graduate, founded KBK Enterprises, a minority-owned multi-dimensional corporation that develops real estate in urban America. Mr. Key began his career in banking with Huntington National Bank. While at Huntington National Bank, Mr. Key acquired experience in Trust, Investments, Commercial Real Estate Lending, and Small Business Lending along with Mortgage Banking. In an effort to expand his services in real estate development and business formation, Mr. Key created KBK Enterprises. KBK Enterprises is a multi-dimensional corporation that is strategically positioned to develop real estate in urban America. KBK currently has offices, in Pittsburgh, PA, Columbus, OH, and Washington, D.C.; and,

WHEREAS, KBK Enterprises is in construction of a new 40-unit rental housing development in Larimer, the first in the neighborhood in decades. KBK Enterprises was also awarded the developer to rebuild Garfield Heights public housing community where over 325 units existed. The new Garfield Commons achieved high "GREEN" standards established by the Pennsylvania Housing Financing Agency, employed a record number of Section 3 employees, hired a record number of MBE/WBE contractors, and provided a training site for the local YouthBuild program; and,

WHEREAS, KBK Enterprises was selected as the developer of Skyline Terrace, the former Addison Terrace public housing in Pittsburgh's Hill District. Skyline Terrace is a 50-acres development site that will replace 734 barrack-style row houses with 400-unit town homes of mixed-income market and subsidized housing. Skyline Terrace has now become the largest award of $160 million to a minority enterprise in the history of Pittsburgh. KBK Enterprises community development approach has positioned itself as one of the most sought-after real estate developers by housing authorities, political and religious leaders, retailers, and corporations nationally; and,
