Title: BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, April 14, 2015, to be "ALLDERDICE DRAGONS BOYS BASKETBALL DAY" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Pittsburgh Allderdice High School, the largest of the Pittsburgh Public Schools' urban high schools, has drawn from nine diverse communities and offers academic programs at all levels, complemented by a full range of interscholastic, intramural and co-curricular clubs and sports; and,

WHEREAS, Allderdice High School has had a proud athletic history, and this year has put a skilled and well-coached basketball team on the court to compete against Perry, Carrick, Westinghouse, Obama, Brashear, McDowell, Bethel Park, Fox Chapel, West Allegheny, Hempfield, North Hills, Washington, Beaver Falls, Blackhawk, Seneca Valley, Indiana, New Castle, Mt. Lebanon, Harrisburg and Martin Luther King in Philadelphia, finishing the year as undefeated Back to Back City League Champions with a 12-0 record and an overall record of 26-3. This run that took the 2015 Allderdice Boys Basketball Team to the Final Four in the state gave them the most wins in the school's 88-year history and ranked them as high as #3 in the state; and,

WHEREAS, the Allderdice Boys Basketball Team was coached by Buddy Valinsky, Andy Pakler and Jeff Cohen and was made up of 12 dedicated student-athletes who have worked hard to bring pride and respect to Allderdice High School. They are Seniors Alex Bell, Loren Wicks, Keon Diggs, Keith and Kenny Robinson, Juniors Tim and James Jackson, Ramon Crieghton, Lamone Dixon Jr., Tim Pugh, Jordan Rawls, and Freshman Tyler Williams. Rounding out the team effort are Managers Talon Scott and Rihanna Graham, Athletic Director Jerry Haslett, Principal Melissa Friez and a cadre of dedicated parents, excited alumni and a very proud Pittsburgh community; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby congratulate the Taylor Allderdice Boys Basketball Team for playing the 2014-2015 season with extraordinary heart and dedication, for bringing home a second City League Championship and for advancing to the Final Fou...
