WHEREAS, Destany Best and Ryan Jones, grades 6 and 5 respectively, of Manchester Academic Charter School are competing in the Academic Games Leagues of America National Tournament in Orlando, Florida; and,
WHEREAS, The Academic Games Leagues of America (AGLOA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing Thinking Kids of character, excellence, and integrity for students who excel academically and use higher order thinking skills in the areas of Language Arts, English, History and Mathematics; and,
WHEREAS, Since 1966, over 40,000 students nationwide have participated and competed in the annual Academic Games National Tournament, which takes over a year to qualify for - as students must be placed in the top 10 each division for the Local and State tournaments; and,
WHEREAS, This year's tournament was comprised of four categories, Presidents, Propaganda, World Events and Equations, Destany Best and Ryan Jones will compete against over 500 students from across the nation, as they represent their school and the City of Pittsburgh.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that April 7, 2015 be declared "Destany Best and Ryan Jones Day" in the City of Pittsburgh
